Private Albert Buss

Company E, 43rd Wisconsin Infantry

Buss was born in Buffalo (Erie County), New York on May 14, 1845. He was residing in Kendall, Wisconsin when he enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on August 6, 1864. Buss served about 10 months before being discharged on June 24, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee.

The 43rd Wisconsin Infantry was organized and mustered in Madison, Wisconsin between August 8 and September 30, 1864. The unit was sent to Tennessee and performed guard duty on the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad.

Buss died on March 15, 1932 at the age of 86 years. He is buried in the Brule Cemetery in Brule (Keith County), Nebraska.
