Artificer Ananias Brewster
Company L, 15th New York Engineers
Brewster was born on February 14, 1847. He enlisted and was mustered as a 17 year old private on August 29, 1864 at Annsville, New York. He was promoted to the position of artificer on February 1, 1865. Brewster served a little over 9 months before being discharged on June 13, 1865 at Fort Barry, Virginia.
He died on January 31, 1932 at the age of 84 years. He is buried in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice (Gage County), Nebraska. Brewster was a member of the Rawlins Post (#35) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Beatrice.
