Private William T Case

Company B, 2nd Iowa Infantry

Case was born in Owens County, Indiana on April 7, 1846. He was living in Council Bluffs (Pottawattamie County), Iowa when he enlisted in the regiment on October 14, 1863. He was mustered on December 11, 1863 and served 1 year 9 months. Case was discharged on September 19, 1865 at Selma, Alabama.

During Case’s enlistment, the regiment fought at the Battle of Franklin (TN) (November 30, 1864) and the Battle of Nashville (TN) (December 15-16, 1864).

Case died on November 7, 1936 at the age of 90 years. He is buried in the Alliance Cemetery in Alliance (Box Butte County), Nebraska. Case was a member of the Drury Post (#278) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Pender, Nebraska.
