Company G, 94th Illinois Infantry

Cloud was born in White County, Illinois on February 10, 1832. He was residing in Leroy (McLean County), Illinois when he enlisted in the regiment on August 8, 1862. He was mustered on August 20, 1862 and went on to serve nearly 3 years. Cloud was discharged on July 17, 1865 at Galveston, Texas.

The 94th Illinois Infantry was organized and mustered in McLean County on August 20, 1862. The unit was part of the Siege of Vicksburg (MS) (June 10-July 4, 1863). It was involved in the Siege of Spanish Fort and Fort Blakely (AL) (March 26-April 8, 1865).

Cloud died on September 7, 1931 at the age of 99 years. He is buried in the Nora Cemetery in Nora (Nuckolls County), Nebraska. Cloud was a member of the Anderson Post (#15) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Nelson, Nebraska.
