Company I, 2nd Missouri Provisional Regiment
Cutsinger was born on March 13, 1841. He enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on March 21, 1863. He served 7 months before being discharged on October 24, 1863.
The 2nd Missouri Provisional Regiment was created by the Missouri Governor in 1863 and assigned to actions against guerrilla forces. The regiment reported to the governor and was funded and supplied by the Federal government. The unit was disbanded in November 1863.
Cutsinger died on February 24, 1931 at the age of 89 years. He is buried in the Ainsworth Cemetery in Ainsworth (Brown County), Nebraska. Cutsinger was a member of the Ainsworth Post (#171) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Ainsworth.
