Company I, 200th Pennsylvania Infantry

Heyde (also spelled Hyde) was born on April 16, 1842. He enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on August 30, 1864. His date and method of discharge from the unit was not available.

The 200th Pennsylvania Infantry was organized and mustered at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on September 3, 1864. The outfit was part of the Army of the Potomac and was assigned to the Siege of Petersburg (VA) from December 1864 to April 1865. The regiment suffered heavy casualties on March 25, 1865 at the Battle of Fort Steadman (VA). Regimental losses were 14 killed and 110 wounded.

Heyde died on January 25, 1936 at the age of 93 years. He is buried in the Silver Creek Cemetery in Falls City (Richardson County), Nebraska.
