Private John Morford

Morford was born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1845. He was residing in Salem (Carroll County), Illinois when he enlisted and mustered in the regiment on March 4, 1865. Morford served about 6 months in the final stages of the War. He was discharged on September 16, 1865 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
He died on December 18, 1935 at the age of 90 years. He is buried in the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow (Custer County), Nebraska. Morford was a member of two posts of the Grand Army of the Republic:
Wallace Post (#50) in Hubbell, Nebraska.
Rice Post (#256) in Merna, Nebraska.
