Morrow was born in Chambersburg (Franklin County), Pennsylvania on June 8, 1835. He was living in Princeton (Bureau County), Illinois when he enlisted on June 4, 1862. He was mustered in the regiment on June 14, 1862. Morrow served 4 months before he was mustered out on October 6, 1862 at Camp Douglas, Illinois.
The 69th Illinois Regiment was organized at Camp Douglas, Illinois on June 14, 1862 for 3 months. The unit was assigned to Camp Douglas and performed guard duty. It was mustered out on September 27, 1862.
Morrow died on December 28, 1933 at the age of 98 years. He is buried in the Arnold Cemetery in Arnold (Custer County), Nebraska. At the time of his death, he was the last member of the Excelsior Post (#196) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Arnold.
