Private Josiah Sullivan
Company I, 146th Indiana Infantry
Sullivan was born in Indiana on November 7, 1845. He was residing in Salisbury (Harrison County), Indiana when he enlisted and mustered in the regiment on February 14, 1865. Sullivan served a little over 6 months. He was discharged on August 31, 1865 at Baltimore, Maryland.
The 146th Indiana Infantry was organized and mustered at Indianapolis on March 9, 1865. The unit was sent to West Virginia and became part of the Army of the Shenandoah. It was assigned to duties in various locations within West Virginia.
Sullivan died on May 17, 1935 at the age of 89 years. He is buried in the Riverview Cemetery in McCook (Red Willow County), Nebraska. Sullivan was a member of the Heintzelman Post (#250) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Stockville, Nebraska.
