Company I, 3rd Missouri Cavalry
Sutton was born in England on April 9, 1844. He enlisted in the regiment on September 23, 1861 at Joe Davisses County, Illinois. Sutton was mustered on February 20, 1862 at Palmyra, Missouri and served about 2 years and 10 months. He was discharged on December 31, 1864 at Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 3rd Missouri Cavalry was organized at Palmyra and St Louis between October 15, 1861 and March 6, 1862. The unit was assigned to duties in Missouri and Arkansas. The regiment was part of the Capture of Little Rock (AK) on September 10, 1863.
Sutton died on June 5, 1930 at the age of 86 years. He is buried in the Table Rock Cemetery in Table Rock (Pawnee County), Nebraska.
