Clark was born on October 1, 1841. He enlisted in the regiment on July 29, 1863. Clark was mustered in on August 10, 1863 and served about 7 months. He was mustered out on March 8, 1864 at Cleveland, Ohio.
The 129th Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Taylor (near Cleveland), Ohio on August 10, 1863. The unit was assigned to patrol duty in Kentucky and Tennessee. The unit was mustered out on March 10, 1864.
Clark died on January 14, 1938 at the age of 96 years. He is buried in the Pawnee City Cemetery in Pawnee City (Pawnee County), Nebraska. At the time of his death, he was the last member of the Belknap Post (#318) of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) in Lincoln, Nebraska. In addition, he was a charter member and the last member of the Crittenden Post (#274) of the GAR in Comstock, Nebraska.
