Company A, 139th Illinois Infantry (100 days/1864)

White was born in Illinois on May 21, 1845. He was residing in Buda (Bureau County), Illinois when he enlisted on May 10, 1864. White was mustered on June 1, 1864 and served until October 28, 1864. He was mustered out at Peoria.

The 139th Illinois Infantry was organized and mustered at Peoria, Illinois on June 1, 1864. The regiment was involved in action against General Sterling Price’s invasion of Missouri in 1864.

White died on June 7, 1931 at the age of 86 years. He is buried in the Waco Cemetery in Waco (York County), Nebraska.
