Corporal Henry Burcham
Company F, 13th Indiana Infantry
Burcham (also spelled Birchum) was born on August 1, 1843. He was residing in Burlington County, Indiana when he enlisted and mustered in the regiment on June 19, 1861. He served a little over 3 years before being mustered out on July 1, 1864.
The 13th Indiana Infantry was organized and mustered at Indianapolis on June 19, 1861. The unit was assigned to duties in Virginia and West Virginia. It fought at the Battle of Cold Harbor (VA) in early June of 1864.
Burcham died on October 7, 1919 at the age of 76 years. He is buried in the Roca Cemetery in Roca (Lancaster County), Nebraska. He was a charter member of the Sulivan Post (#312) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Hickman, Nebraska.
