18th Indiana Lt Artillery
Information regarding Garver is quite sketchy. Indiana records indicate that he was 18 years old when he enlisted as a substitute soldier. He enlisted and was mustered on August 23, 1864. Garver served about 10 months and was mustered out on June 30, 1865 at Indianapolis.
Garver died on July 27, 1936. He was a charter member and the last member of the Mix Post (#66) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Humbolt, Nebraska. His burial location was not available.
