Private James M Woodcock

Company G, 14th Ohio Infantry

Woodcock was born in Ohio on April 13, 1843. The 18 year old enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on August 26, 1861. Woodcock served about 17 months and was discharged on February 1, 1863 for disability.

Woodcock died on August 29, 1917 at the age of 74 years. He is buried in the Taylor Cemetery in Hubbard (Dakota County), Nebraska. He was a charter member of the O’Brien Post (#241) of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) in Turner, Nebraska. In addition, he was a member of the Banner Post (#308) of the GAR in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
