Series highlights

Larry Gura, a senior right-hander, earned his 19th win with a 10-1 title-game victory against Tulsa, moving his record to 2-1 with a save in the series. Gura suffered just two losses on the year.

Arizona State battle back from a first-game defeat. The Sun Devils won their third title (1965, 1967), boosting their mark to 56-11 for the season.

Most Outstanding Player

John Dolinsek, Arizona State

The ASU junior, winner of all but two votes for the award, collected three hits and scored three times in the title bout.

Dolinsek, a left fielder, also tallied a series-leading .476 batting average, six RBIs and two homers.

ASU placed five of 10 selections on the all-tournament team.
