Weight Doesn’t Count a Bit: Heavy Men from Iowa Laid Out by the Frisky Boys of the Lincoln Team

University of Nebraska Has Another Victory to Its Credit on the Foot Ball Field

Lincoln, Neb., Nov. 19 — Today was such a day as a foot ball player might have made for the purpose if he had control of the weather. The bright sunshine and a breeze that was of no particular advantage to either side could not be complained of, and if there was a bit of wind in the air there was not enough of it to be a disadvantage. The game between the University of Nebraska and the Iowa team was one of the cleanest and best games of foot ball seen on the Lincoln grounds in a long time. The Iowa men were a great deal heavier than the Nebraskans and the game was a contest between the weight of the Iowa contingent and the agility of their opponents. The score of 12 to 4 in favor of Nebraska shows that their heavier neighbors were no match for the lighter men. The honor of the game, so far as Nebraska was concerned, largely falls to the share of Wiggins, both the touchdowns being made by him, while Thorpe kicked both of the goals.

It is probable that the university will play the Wesleyans in this city Monday next.

The Ames team left for its western trip tonight in a special car.
