New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr receiver Jariah Tolbert became the 20th known member of the Huskers' 2014 recruiting class when he made his commitment on Thursday, Jan. 9.
Tolbert is the third receiver of NU's 2014 class, joining Missouri receiver Monte Harrison and Florida pass-catcher Robert Lockhart. He joins Edna Karr teammate Jaevon Walton, a linebacker, as the class' second commit from the state of Louisiana.
Tolbert had more than 1,000 yards receiving this season, said Edna Karr coach Nathaniel Jones.
"Of all my guys, Jariah has the biggest upside," Jones said. "You're talking about a guy who could be a 4.4 wide receiver who could weigh as much as 220 pounds. He's a big, vertical, downfield receiver. He'll fit in well in the Big Ten."
According to 247Sports.com, Tolbert held offers from Utah, Kent State and Tulane. His primary recruiter was receivers coach Rich Fisher.
The Edna Karr football account on Twitter posted a message Thursday morning congratulating the receiver on his commitment to NU:
