Military surplus transfers

Thousands of law enforcement agencies across the country receive surplus military equipment under the Pentagon's 1033 program. That includes 179 agencies in Nebraska and Iowa, which collectively hold 1,890 surplus items — including assault rifles, night vision sets and armored trucks.
