Nebraska linebacker Michael Rose-Ivey will participate in a tryout this weekend with the San Francisco 49ers, according to NBC Sports Bay Aera.
Rose-Ivey was one of several former Huskers to go undrafted last weekend. The 49ers opened rookie minicamp Friday with Rose-Ivey hoping to earn a spot on the roster entering next season.
Rose-Ivey started eight games as a senior last season, registering 70 tackles with eight for loss.
But Rose-Ivey may be best known for being one of three Huskers to kneel for the national anthem when Nebraska played at Northwestern in 2016. His passionate speech explaining why he knelt gained national attention amidst a wave of both support and criticism.
