Malcolm Agnew, a graduate manager for the Husker football team, has been hired as the new running backs coach at North Dakota.
Agnew, who played for Mike Riley at Oregon State for two seasons before finishing his career at Southern Illinois, joined the Husker program in the spring of 2016. According to his bio on the Husker athletics website, he assisted in Nebraska's recruiting efforts.
Prior to Nebraska, Agnew coached high school football at his alma mater in St. Louis and also served as a volunteer scouting assistant for the Los Angeles Rams.
UND coach Bubba Schweigert was the defensive coordinator at Southern Illinois while Agnew played there.
"We are looking forward to having Malcolm join our staff here at North Dakota," Schweigert said in a press release. "He is an impressive young man ... He has already developed strong recruiting ties in the Midwest and Canada since graduating, and coupled with his knowledge of the running back position, will be a great fit for us here in Grand Forks."
