Joshua Kalu will not return to the game after injuring his hamstring against Oregon, according to Nebraska sideline reporter Ben McLaughlin.
Kalu suffered the injury in the second quarter while chasing down Oregon receiver Johnny Johnson III. Kalu stayed on the ground after the play and limped off the field.
Kalu came out of the locker room after halftime in street clothes. Antonio Reed replaced him at safety.
His absence is a tough loss for a Husker defense that gave up more than 400 total yards and 300 passing yards in the first half.
