Former Husker Ameer Abdullah named a "Gruden Grinder" on Monday Night Football

Ameer Abdullah ran for 86 yards on 17 carries during the Detroit Lions' 24-10 win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

That effort was good enough for the former Husker to be named a "Gruden Grinder," the weekly award given out by coach-turned-analyst Jon Gruden.

The win moved the Lions to 2-0 and the Giants to 0-2.

Through two games, Abdullah has 116 rushing yards and three receptions for 11 yards.
