Tommy Armstrong interception kills late first-half drive

The Huskers had a chance to add points before halftime, but a Tommy Armstrong interception proved costly.

After hitting Jordan Westerkamp for a big gain to move into Illinois territory, Armstrong tried to find Brandon Reilly on the next play, but the Husker wideout was blanketed by defenders. Armstrong threw it anyway, and Illinois came up with the interception to kill the drive.

The Illini ended up kicking a field goal as time expired in the first half to take a 13-10 lead into the locker room.
