Justin Patton's career has gotten off to a quick start.
Patton averaged 16 points, 8.5 rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots on 82.4 percent shooting from the field as Creighton defeated both Buffalo and Akron last week.
Patton became just the third Creighton freshman in the last 25 years to post a double-double, totaling 21 points and 10 boards against the Bulls. Patton made 9 of 10 shots from the field and became the first 7-footer in program history to sink a three-pointer.
He then added 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks against Akron. His two dunks in the second half gave him 21 for the year.
Creighton's 8-0 start is the program's best since CU won its first 12 to open up the 2003-04 season.
