CBS Sports analyst ranks Jays point guard Maurice Watson fifth on player of the year rankings

Creighton's Maurice Watson continues to garner attention from the national media.

On Wednesday, CBS Sports' Gary Parrish ranked Watson fifth on his college basketball Player of the Year rankings.

Parrish ranked Villanova's Josh Hart, UCLA's Lonzo Ball, Kansas' Frank Mason and Duke's Luke Kennard above Watson.

He praised the senior point guard, writing: "Watson is leading the nation in assists per game (9.1) while starring for an undefeated team and orchestrating an offense that ranks fifth in 2-point field goal percentage (59.3) and second in 3-point field goal percentage (45.0)."

Watson was also named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list, given to the best point guard in the country, and was recognized with preseason first-team All-Big East honors.
