Athlon Sports ranks Huskers second in the Big Ten West entering spring practice

With spring practice right around the corner, Athlon Sports ranked each team in the Big Ten and picked Nebraska second in the West division behind Wisconsin.

Athlon also named the QB battle between Patrick O'Brien and Tanner Lee as the "key spring goal" for NU.

"In two years with the Green Wave, Lee threw for 23 scores and 21 interceptions," Athlon wrote. "After a redshirt year, Lee should be up-to-speed on Nebraska’s system and is his pro-style background is a good fit for the offense."

Behind Wisconsin and Nebraska, Athlon picked Northwestern at No. 3 and Iowa at No. 4, noting, "there’s very little separation between the Hawkeyes and Northwestern or Nebraska."
