Former Millard West star A.J. Ladwig retires 18 straight batters for Detroit Tigers farm team

A.J. Ladwig allowed a leadoff double to start his season. He didn't give up much after that.

The former Millard West star sat down 18 consecutive batters as the Advanced A Lakeland Flying Tigers downed the Tampa Yankees, 5-0.

Ladwig earned the victory, finishing with six strikeouts in six innings for the Flying Tigers. The leadoff double was the only baserunner Ladwig allowed.

Ladwig, in this third professional season, has a career record of 25-25 with 208 strikeouts and 44 walks.
