Battle of Bluejays

Fresh off the heels of the 100th anniversary of Creighton's first men's basketball game, we asked for your take on the greatest players in program history in our "Battle of Bluejays" bracket.

Your votes helped decide the outcome of a 64-person bracket crowning the greatest Bluejay basketball player of all time. The votes were based on each player's CU career — while NBA feats or a future coaching career certainly add to an overall résumé, the contest sought to name the player who fans thought most embodied greatness while wearing the name "Creighton" across their chest. Because we tried to gauge an entire CU career, the bracket did not include any active players.

On Sunday, April 2, we crowned an unlikely champion. After an overwhelming amount of support from family and friends, No. 11 seed Tim Powers defeated Doug McDermott, the bracket's overall top seed, in the finals.
