Private George Bruner

Company B, 126th Pennsylvania Infantry

Bruner was born in Germany in June, 1838. He enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on August 12, 1862. He served about 9 months and was discharged on May 20, 1863 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The 126th Pennsylvania Infantry was organized at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in August, 1862. The unit fought at the Battle of Fredericksburg (VA) (December 12-15, 1862) and the Battle of Chancellorsville (VA) (May 1-5, 1863). Private Bruner was wounded on May 3rd during the Battle of Chancellorsville. The unit was mustered out on May 20, 1863.

Bruner died on December 24, 1932 at the age of 94 years. He is buried in the Fairbury Cemetery in Fairbury (Jefferson County), Nebraska.
