Private John W Bosley

Bosley was born in October of 1847. He enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on September 17, 1864. Bosley served about 9 months before being discharged on June 10, 1865 at Washington DC.
He joined the unit in the final stages of the War. Based on his enlistment date, he would have participated in the General Sherman’s “March to the Sea” (GA) (November 15-December 10, 1864). Other battles and actions during his enlistment include:
Siege of Savannah (GA) (December 10-21, 1864).
Campaign of the Carolinas (January-April 1865).
Battle of Bentonville (GA) (March 19-21, 1865).
At the Bennett House (Raleigh NC) when General Johnston surrendered the Army of Tennessee (April 26, 1865).
Grand Review of the Troops (Washington DC) (May 24, 1865).
Bosley died on May 13, 1933 at the age of 85 years. He is buried in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Grand Island (Hall County), Nebraska.
