Company F, 10th Indiana Cavalry

DeBruler was born in Ohio on December 30, 1848. He was residing in Pike County, Indiana when he enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on January 8, 1864. DeBruler served 1 year and 8 months. He was discharged on August 31, 1865 at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

The 10th Indiana Cavalry was organized in several Indiana cities between December 30, 1863 and April 30, 1864. The regiment fought at the Battle of Nashville (TN) (December 15-16, 1864) and was assigned to the Siege of Spanish Fort and Fort Blakely (AL) (March 26-April 9, 1865).

DeBruler died on December 4, 1934 at the age of 86 years. He is buried in the Litchfield Cemetery in Litchfield (Sherman County), Nebraska. DeBruler was a member of the Perryville Post (#231) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Litchfield.
