Company G, 34th Wisconsin Infantry
Fleharty was born in Grant County, Wisconsin on August 27, 1837. He was residing in Monticello (Grant County), Wisconsin when he enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on December 6, 1862. Fleharty served 9 months and was discharged on September 8, 1863 at Milwaukee.
The 34th Wisconsin was organized at Madison, Wisconsin in December 1862. The unit was stationed at Fort Halleck, Kentucky until August 1863. The companies of the regiment were detached and Company G was assigned to Cairo, Illinois. The regiment was reunited at Cairo, Illinois on August 14, 1863 and mustered out on September 8, 1863.
Fleharty died on February 20, 1930 at the age of 92 years. He is buried in the Kearney Cemetery in Kearney (Buffalo County), Nebraska.
