Private Joseph Hutchinson

Hutchinson was born in 1845. He was residing in Decatur County, Indiana when he enlisted and mustered in the regiment on May 24, 1864. Hutchinson served a little over 3 months. He was discharged on September 2, 1864 at Indianapolis.
The 134th Indiana Infantry was organized and mustered at Indianapolis on May 25, 1864. The unit was to railroad guard duty in Tennessee and Alabama. The regiment was mustered out on September 2, 1864.
Hutchinson died on June 12, 1936 at the age of 91 years. He is buried in the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow (Custer County), Nebraska. Hutchinson was a member of the Washburn Post (#98) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Broken Bow.
