Private David C Hostetter

Hostetter was born in October of 1840. He enlisted and mustered in the regiment on June 19, 1863. Hostetter served about 6 weeks and was discharged on July 30, 1863.

The 26th Pennsylvania Infantry Militia was organized at Harrisburg on June 22, 1863. The regiment provided protection for Pennsylvania against General Lee’s invasion of the state. The unit was mustered out on July 31, 1863.

Hostetter died on April 27, 1930 at the age of 89 years. He is buried in the Kearney Cemetery in Kearney (Buffalo County), Nebraska. Hostetter was a member of the Gavitt Post (#299) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Kearney.
