Private John Lutrell
Company A, 32nd Kentucky Infantry
Lutrell (also spelled Litrell) was born on September 8, 1842. He enlisted in the regiment on August 18, 1862 at Camp Burnside, Kentucky. Lutrell was mustered on April 15, 1863 and served an undetermined tour of duty. Civil War records indicate that Lutrell’s “date and method of discharge not given”. The regiment was mustered out between May 28 and August 12, 1863.
The 32nd Kentucky Infantry was organized at Frankfort and Camp Burnside in August 1862. The unit was assigned to guard and scouting duty in Western Kentucky.
Lutrell died on February 29, 1932 at the age of 89 years. He is buried in the Central City Cemetery in Central City (Merrick County), Nebraska.
