Corporal Royal P Peck

Peck was born in Ohio on September 18, 1844. He enlisted and mustered in the regiment on February 23, 1864. Peck served about 17 months. Peck enlisted as a private and was promoted to corporal on April 11, 1865. He was discharged on August 4, 1865 at Edgefield, Tennessee.
He joined the regiment in the early part of 1864. During his enlistment, the unit was involved in several major military operations. Some of them include:
Atlanta (GA) Campaign (May 1-September 8, 1864).
Assault on Kenesaw Mountain (GA) (June 27, 1864).
Siege of Atlanta (GA) (July 24-August 15, 1864).
Operations against Generals Hood and Forest (AL/GA) (September 29-November 3, 1864).
Peck died on June 2, 1934 at the age of 89 years. He is buried in the Highland Cemetery in Ravenna (Buffalo County), Nebraska. Peck was a member of the Kilpatrick Post (#82) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Oakdale, Nebraska.
