Private William I Webster

Company I, 15th Iowa Infantry

Webster was born in Maryland in July of 1842. He was residing in Smyrna (Clarke County), Iowa when he enlisted in the regiment on January 14, 1862. Webster was mustered on January 24, 1862 and served about 1 year. He was discharged on January 31, 1863 and enlisted in the United States Marines. No information was available regarding his service with the Marine Corps.

He died on April 4, 1936 at the age of 93 years. He is buried in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice (Gage County), Nebraska.
