Private Henry Horn

Horn was born in Wisconsin on September 23, 1843. He was living in Pewaukee (Waukesha County), Wisconsin when he enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on March 22, 1865. Horn served 1 year and was mustered out on March 24, 1866 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Horn joined the regiment while it was stationed at Fort Lyon, Colorado. The unit stayed at that location until it was mustered out at Fort Leavenworth on March 24, 1866.
Horn died on November 5, 1940 at the age of 97 years. He is buried in the Beaver Crossing Cemetery in Beaver Crossing (Seward County), Nebraska. At the time of his death, he was the last member of the Keenan Post (#137) of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) in Beaver Crossing. In addition, he was a member of the Brown Post (#76) in Exeter and the Stowell Post (#302) in Peru of the GAR.
