Private Joshua C Wilson

Company B, 117th Indiana Infantry (6 months, 1863-64)

Wilson was born in Indiana on February 14, 1846. He was living in Hendricks County, Indiana when he enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on August 3, 1863. Wilson served about 7 months and was mustered out on February 23, 1864 at Indianapolis.

The 117th Indiana Infantry was organized at Indianapolis on September 17, 1863 for 6 months service. The unit was assigned to Kentucky for the entire tour of duty.

Wilson died on February 25, 1926 at the age of 80 years. He is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull (Adams County), Nebraska. He was a charter member of the Harrison Post (#283) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Trumbull.
