Private Henry Deppe
Company A, 5th Missouri Infantry (3 months, 1861)
Two Civil War sources indicate that Deppe (also spelled Deffe) was born in 1849. This date is probably incorrect. Missouri records reflect that Deppe enlisted and was mustered on May 11, 1861. His age would have been 12 years. He served about 1 month and was discharged on June 3, 1861 for disability.
Deppe died on March 16, 1926. He is buried in the Glenville Cemetery in Glenville (Clay County), Nebraska. He was the last member of the Collins Post (#117) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Glenville.
