Private William Kirkpatrick
Company B, 150th Illinois Infantry (1 year, 1865)
Kirkpatrick was born in Kosciusko County, Indiana on October 18, 1844. He was living in Old Town (McLean County), Illinois when he enlisted in the regiment on January 25, 1865. The 20 year old farmer was mustered in the regiment on February 10, 1865. He served about 11 months and was mustered out of the regiment on January 16, 1866 at Atlanta.
The 150th Illinois Infantry was organized at Camp Butler (Chicago), Illinois on February 14, 1865. Company B was assigned to Atlanta in July 1865 and performed garrison duty for the balance of their 1 year.
Kirkpatrick died on November 14, 1925. He is buried in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Gresham (York County), Nebraska. Kirkpatrick was one of the last members of the Stephenson Post (#132) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Gresham.
