Series highlights

The Holy Cross Crusaders defeated Missouri in back-to-back games to become the first school east of the Mississippi River to win the "Rose Bowl of College Baseball."

The Crusaders captured the crown behind the strong arm of Jim O'Neill. O'Neill earned three victories in the series, including the 8-4 win against the Tigers in the championship game.

The Crusaders lost to Missouri 1-0 in the second round before bouncing back with two victories over Texas and Western Michigan to earn a rematch. The Tigers needed only one victory to eliminate Holy Cross and secure the championship, but the Crusaders proved too difficult to knock off.
