Shuts out Missourians

Columbia, Mo., Nov. 5—Nebraska university shut out the Missouri Tigers in a fierce game on the Columbia gridiron this afternoon by a score of 12 to 0.

Nebraska kicked off and at once began a swift, furious and aggressive plays. Missouri seemed staggered and put up a poor defense. Within two minutes Crandall of Nebraska went round the end for a touchdown an Ringer kicked goal. When the ball was again in play, the Tigers woke up and made a furious combined attack on the Nebraska center. They rushed the ball by sheer force well into Nebraska territory and it was on the twenty-yard line before a long punt sent the oval back to the center. In punting the visitors showed rare skill and sever thirty-yard gains went this to their credit. The first half closed with the ball on Missouri’s twenty-yard line with the score 6 to 0 for Nebraska.

In the second half the teams struggled stubbornly for ten minutes in the center without a gain of ten yards by either, then Nebraska, by good mass work, drove the ball steadily through Missouri for a second touchdown. Ring kicked a hard goal. Nebraska was unable to make another score.
