Cornhuskers Were Too Much for the Iowans

Lincoln Neb., Oct. 13—Nebraska State university won from Drake today by a score of 5 to 0 in a game neither debrutalized nor painless. The Cornhuskers plucked their touchdown in the last half by a combination of end runs followed by line bucks. During the first half there was fumbling, penalties and slugging. Drake slightly outweighed Nebraska and in the beginning the playing of the visitors was much better.

The game opened with some spectacular punting. This aroused applause. Late there were expressions of disgust as the reprehensible features of the game cropped out. IN the second half Cooke got the ball, started around left end and smuggled the pigskin to McDonald who hiked around right end. he was nailed after dashing fifteen yards. McDonald got thirty-five yards more on a similar play. There were one and two yards gained, then a penalty on Drake and a final one yard shoved over the goal line. Captain Mason carrying the ball. Punting and scrimmaging occupied the remainder of the game.

Mason, McDonald, Denslow and Drain played well for Nebraska. Matters, Wilkie and Craig also performed commendable stunts. For the visitors, Taylor, Evans and Kenyon were the stars. The hospital list contains no startling casualties.
