Cornhuskers Whip the Peru Normals

Take First Football Game of the Season from them by Score of 53 to 0

Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 28 — The Cornhuskers defeated the players of the Peru normal today by the score of 53 to 0 on a slow field. There was no crowd to speak of, just a few enthusiasts having come out to see the initial game of the Nebraskans.

The men appeared well coached and experts declare the Nebraska team is in the best shape of years in an initial game. Coach Cole expressed himself as being well pleased with the work of his young hopefuls.

Minor and Cooke acted as quarter in different halves and showed good generalship. Captain Weller played a strong game at fullback.
