Nebraska Field, Nov. 18 — Caesar had his Brutus. The Kansas Aggies had their forward pass.
Against the Cornhuskers the Aggies used the forward pass for a gain of 181 yards but that same forward pass dealt the Jayhawkers a left hand blow and the Cornhuskers won today by a 21 to 0 score.
The Farmers were stronger than the Nebraskans had anticipated and the game was bitterly fought.
Dawson started a bunch of second stringers, but jerked them during the second quarter when the Aggies threatened.
Nebraska’s first two touchdowns were the result of Aggie aerial flips which failed to connect.
In the middle of the second quarter Noble intercepted Stark’s pass and ran to the Aggie’s forty-yard line. An exchange of punts enabled the Huskers to take advantage of Brandley’s weak boot and start a sixteen-yard drive to a touchdown. Lewellen carried it over.
Two minutes after the start of the third quarter, Lewellen intercepted and Aggie forward pass and ran twenty-three yards to a second touchdown.
The third touchdown was the result of straight football, a hammering drive which swept the Aggies before it in a steady march down the rectangle.
A fourth touchdown was denied the Huskers when time was called with Nebraska in possession of the ball on the Aggies’ four-yard line, with four downs to make it.
The breaks of the game continually went against the Aggies. Early in the first half the Farmers counted a touchdown only to have it disallowed for the infliction of a five-yard penalty because the Aggie backs were in motion.
The Agriculturalists crossed the goal line on a forward pass.
There is a lot of respect for the Kansas Aggies in Nebraska camp tonight. Any team that could complete passes the way the Farmers did should command respect. The Aggies tried forty-three forward passes and completed twenty-one. Swartz and Stark were active on the receiving and hurling end of most of the flips. Either could hurl the oval with telling effect. Swartz threw the pigskin in southpaw fashion and fooled the Nebraska forwards at first.
Dave Noble, Omaha Central star, was the big noise in the Nebraska offense. In the first quarter he reeled off a run of forty-one yards and rushed the oval out of the danger zone when it looked like the Farmers were off to a touchdown. In the last quarter he drove and hammered through the Aggie line for a touchdown and was on the way to another when the whistle ended the game. Lewellen and Wenke also came in for a share of the glory.
The game today was an excellent preparation for the Thanksgiving day game, for the Farmers are coached by Bachman, a former Hoosier star, and used the Notre Dame shift and formations which the Catholics employ.
Captain Hartley of Nebraska won the toss and chose the east goal.
Wenke kicked off forty yards. Brandley returned forty yards to Aggies’ twenty-four-yard line. Aggies fumbled on first play. The Cornhuskers were offside and were penalized five yards.
On next play Brandley ran Nebraska right end for nine yards. The ball was called back and Nebraska penalized five yards.
Clements hit center for six yards. Brandley fumbled and was thrown for an eight-yard loss. Forward pass, Swartz to Stark, was good for thirteen yards. Clements dove over left tackle for two yards. Clements dove through for another five yards. Clements made it first down. Ball on fifty-yard line. Clements dove through line again for five yards. A forward pass, from Swartz to Stark, was good for seven yards, and another first down.
Stark fumbled and in a wild scramble for the ball the Aggies recovered. A forward pass, Stark to Munn, was incomplete. Another forward pass, Stark to Webber, was incomplete, but a forward pass, Stark to Brandley, was good for four yards.
On fourth down Swartz forward pass went over goal line for a touchback.
Nebraska took the ball on its twenty-yard line. Noble ran off Aggies left tackle and made forty-one yards. Noble again plunged for three yards. R. Dewitz hit the line for two yards.

Russell tried a drop kick. The ball hit the goal post and bounced back in field. It was from the forty-yard line.
Clements hit the line for three yards. Forward pass, Swartz to Stark, gained six yards. Clements went through line for four yards and first down. Stark failed to gain on a line buck. Clements dove through center for eight yards and another first down. Clements plunged through Nebraska left guard for two yards. Forward pass, Swartz to Stark, incomplete.
Clements hit the line for five yards. Stark punted fifty yards across Nebraska goal line for a touchback. It was Nebraska’s ball on its twenty-yard line.
