Did you know?
Jackson was clocked at 25.0 seconds in the 200-meter dash during his junior season of track.
“Coach Pelini is a good coach, and I see myself playing under him. He's put a lot of kids in the league (NFL) by putting them in the right place for football and life and setting them up for success.”
Hightower High is in Missouri City, Texas, but Jackson lives in nearby Fresno. Good open-field tackler who likes contact, obvious pluses for a safety. Also good size and range. Finished his senior season with 56 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass breakups. Helped anchor a Hightower defense that included four-star linebacker and Oklahoma State recruit Shaun Lewis — with the Hurricanes holding six of their first eight opponents to a touchdown or less, including two shutouts. Jackson also considered OSU and Missouri. Also, a good measure of his academic ability comes with his offers from Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Stanford. Played on Hightower teams that made the state finals in 2008 and posted a 10-0 regular season in 2009 before a second-round exit from the playoffs.
At least by measurables, comes to NU a little like 2008 signee P.J. Smith. Jackson excelled some on special teams for Hightower, so that's a possible way for him to get on the field before some others at Nebraska.
