The Bellevue East graduate played four seasons with the Huskers, initially playing on the offensive line before moving to the defensive line as a junior.
Rother had 10 sacks in 1987, which ranks tenth on Nebraska’s all-time single season list, and was an All-Big Eight first team selection.
The St. Paul, Nebraska, native was drafted in the fourth round, No. 90 overall, by the Los Angeles Raiders. Rother played 20 games over two seasons with the Raiders.
