Originally committed to Air Force as a member of the 2013 class, Kieron Williams opted to attend Air Force Prep Academy before committing to the Huskers on May 30, 2014.

Williams' commitment was first hinted at -- using the familiar "Boom" posting on Twitter -- by NU defensive backs coach Charlton Warren. Williams later posted about the commitment:

Williams was first identified as the commit in a post by Nate Clouse of

After deciding not to play for Air Force, Williams told Huskers Illustrated that he was quickly courted by Nebraska, and when he visited Lincoln "I knew right off the bat I loved this place."

Prior to committing to Air Force in 2013, Williams was receiving interest from multiple schools in Louisiana -- including LSU -- as well as Ole Miss. Williams said he had offers from Cal, Iowa, Indiana, Cincinnati, BYU and Tulsa after deciding to move on from Air Force, but he only took a visit to Nebraska.

ESPN's scouting report calls Williams a "tough customer with strong wrap tackling ability" who is "effective" as a run and pass defender from multiple alignments. The report also notes his " flexibility, balance and agility" as well as his "good anticipation and underneath route awareness," before predicting a "long and productive career at the BCS level."
